Barnardo’s delivered The PATHS® Programme for Schools (UK Version) in 16 schools across Swansea, Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taff between March 2013 and July 2017.
From 2018 we’ve been involved in implementing the PATHS® curriculum in 20 pre-schools across Bridgend and Pembrokeshire. This work has gone from strength to strength extending to new settings in Pembrokeshire and Vale of Glamorgan.
“I have found PATHS® to be very beneficial to the children within my class. They have matured through learning about the different feelings and that all feelings are ok to both experience and talk about. This has also led to the children feeling more prepared to discuss more openly their feelings outside of the PATHS® sessions. The children have revealed in learning about the different feelings and how they have affected both them and me through role plays and stories from our lives. They really look forward to the ‘sharing’ sessions where they feel they can share their experiences in a safe, judgement-free environment. It has been lovely getting to know the children and their lives outside of school a little better and PATHS® has certainly facilitated this.”
